About Me

I work as a developer/analyst at a large multinational electronics company, and I sincerely enjoy my job. My hobbies include hiking, RC airplanes, studying mythology, and trying to eat at least one entree from each country/cultural region on the planet.

My leisure time is divided between reading, creating web applications (for fun!), kayaking, and browsing Netflix. I also play RPGs at a weekly meetup that I run, have a penchant for graphic novels, and am a sci-fi/fantasy fan.

While I do not lack confidence or have self-esteem issues, I do tend to be reserved until I can get to know a person. In terms of work I can be quite serious, but am still the kind of person who is not afraid to laugh at myself.

Though I have a pretty even temper, and am generally slow to annoyance or anger I am not a wallflower. For me communication is very important, and I place a lot of stock in calm, rational conflict resolution over drama, and don't tend to sweat the small stuff.

I drink socially, and in moderation.

I don't do them, but believe in decriminalization or even legalization and regulation of the softer stuff like marijuana.

On a deep level, I don't care. On a slightly more superficial level, I've made a deal with myself to try to take better care of myself in the fashion department. This entails ironing clothes (what a change from college), and making a serious effort to coordinate and look average. I've managed to succeed with the tried and true method of just copying whatever is in a store display window.

I have a gym membership that I actually use, although I won't be running any marathons anytime soon.

Outside of religion, the quickest way to an argument! I don't mind discussing politics, but only if the person I'm talking to is truly interested in exchanging ideas or having a rational, respectful debate.

I am an atheist.

I've never smoked and prefer to not be around smokers.
