As with anyone else, I do have my favorite doctor, but I've actually liked all of them, and I mean both the old and new series (Been a fan since about 1979). I've only seen the first episode of the new season, but so far so good! Maybe I'm just easy to please. And the "coming soon" portion again reminded me why I like the show so much. There is such variety and flights of fancy that you just don't get with other well known sci fi shows/movies. I like Star Wars and Star Trek, but they are just so limited in comparison to Doctor Who.
I think he's alot like the bi-polar fits of Patrick Troughton with a wisp of David Tennant... not too bad thus far.
I'm a huge fan of 11. Then again, I'm a bit biased. He WAS my first, after all.
I like the earlier ones as well, I have been too busy to catch any of the latest season. When I do get time, i will have plenty to catch up on.
I like the new Doctor. My mom and brother have been fan's for years now, but this was my first time watching any doctor and I have to say I'm loving it. I went into the show blind and have grown to love it. I've started watching some of the other Doctor's to see what I've missed.
You've missed a LOT, but nowadays you can catch up pretty easily on both the old and new runs, so have fun! If you have any non-spoiler questions, I'm sure many of us here can answer them.
Loving the fact that the new Doctor is more alien than recent Doctors have been... But think that some of the recent stories have been a bit weaker than normal!
I'm still not totally sold, but I'm liking him more with each episode, especially when I re-watch them. LOVE his companion.
Tennant and Eccleston are both awfully hard acts to follow, so I actually think he's doing quite well.
Well I have to say I love 10.5, He's the best :D mmmmm, David Tennant....And My fave companion Is Dona Noble, She's freakin awesome, Love Catherine Tate :D
My favorite doctor was the 4th Doctor (Tom Baker), and favorite companion Leela (Louise Jameson), The new series have not started broadcasting in my country, but the look of the new doctors somehow remembers me a bit of Tom Baker's doctor. I found the situations between an archaic civilization companions such as Leela and a very high-tech one like the doctor very amusing. I had been fan of the series since 1979 and 4th Doctor was my first doctor, then I also suppose I a biased toward him.
My brother and I think Matt Smith IS The Doctor. Before I saw the season I was reluctant to want to see him play the doctor but after watching the first episode, he is my absolute favorite. XD
I've been a fan of Doctor Who since I was a kid. Favorite Doctors: Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, David Tennant. Still on the fence about Matt Smith but looking forward to Series 6.
What I love about Doctor Who is that it's a show that can literally go anywhere (or any when) and do just about any sort of story. I also love, love, love that for ONCE it's an SF show not based in a military structure. Nothing wrong with Star Trek, Stargate SG-1, or new Battlestar, but for once it's nice to have a show about a guy who only carries a tool (the sonic screwdriver) not a gun. Not to mention that the idea of escaping a boring planet (eg town) where nothing ever happens and exploring the universe is something with which I can still identify.
Doctor Who Nerd Q: Would a perception filter work on a zen master?
"The Girl Who waited" is an excellent example of the dangers of time travel, if such ever comes to pass. I rank this episode up there with "Blink".
Watching 4th Doctor stories completely out of order. Makes for an interesting experience, though I don't suggest doing so unless you have already seen them all in proper order, and have had enough time pass to blur your memory a bit.
Overall My favorite is the End of Time part 1 & 2 specials. That doctor seems more balanced. The newest doctor (season 5 onwards..) is more playful, but doesn't seem to present a character that can function without Amy. And yes I started with the 2005 Season 1 with Rose
I will forever be a Christopher Eccleston fan and a Rose fan. Although I love Amy. I'm a bit pro ginger. But, I'll be a fan of the show forever, no matter who the doctor is or was or will be.

| What do you like best about Doctor Who? |
For me, it's the freedom. There's no Prime Directive, and the story does NOT exclusiely take place long long ago in a galaxy far far away. |

So what's everyone think about the new season's Doctor? I like the other 2005+ Doctors better, personally... I'm hoping is style is part of the plot. :)
