If you are just getting into the system, remember that import cards require an adapter when used on an American system, but the CDs and Super CDs run just fine! Arcade CDs that do not play in Super CD mode DO require an adapter for the Arcade Card system card.

Tengai Makyou FTW.

Cosmic Fantasy 2, Cosmic Fantasy 4 Gekitou hen, Emerald Dragon, Exile, I could keep going . . . but then I'd end up listing almost every RPG on the system. ;)

Get NitroGrafx, a PCE/Turbo emulator for the DS:

Many games run very well, including CD ones! Be sure to have, at least for now, no slower than a class 4 MicroSD for better CD audio sync.

I only found out recently, but the DS has a port of Tengai Makyou II that seems to still have the feel of the original TG16 game!

Hooray!!!!!!!!! After over a year, the PC Engine/Turbografx emulator for the DS, Nitrografx, has received an update! Many games with graphical glitches are (nearly) fixed, and some previously unplayable games are more than playable now!

A little old, but still great article that pretty much explains everything:

In case you did not know, the NES had a backport of Bonk's Adventure. While obviously inferior, it's still interesting to see.

Goetzendiener : Proof that the PC Engine is capable of a Diablo style game.

Goetzendiener is proof that the PC Engine could do a Diabloesque game, if only one would program it.  It's isometric, with real time combat and cool looking monsters.  All it's missing are some stats and a bit of leveling.
