I'm a shy geek but have found that I like many things that make me who I am. Fixing broken junk is my passion. Junk includes computers and printers. I like myself and am comfortable with who I am. A geek!
Keshaandyandteddy: NO IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE! I have a similar, though different problem: I have a solid core of geeky friends, but most of them don't like to perform outside activities (my geeky side extends to applying my interests to the natural world and even urban settings) and other things. These are of course aside from conventions. Getting them to those is little trouble.

I'm a highly social person (just got around to it a few years ago) and don't even know where to go to interact with my fellow geeks (conventions not counting, I want to do something more on the regular.) Is it impossible to find intelligent, quirky, off-centered humans that like to do activities outside of their home around norms or is this asking too much?!
