How does one talk about one's self without sounding immodest?

Who cares, I'm Awesome.

The funny thing is I couldn't even write the above without both laughing and cringing. I'm a nerd who loves the sciences. From Molecular Biology to Theoretical Physics, I enjoy the process of knowing less and less about more and more. I am more likely to read a textbook than a novel, but I thoroughly appreciate the fine craftsmanship found in the works of a Bester or a Palahniuk. That being said, I have many years steeped in the socially awkward tea that is sci-fi and fantasy. Go ahead, quiz me. I dare you. But seriously, please don't.

Oh, and I own a d20. Yea, you heard me...

I am busy socially. My friends are very dear to me, and I am fortunate to count them on both hands.

I'm quick with a joke, and have often been told by people I'm clever. Those people are right, of course, but lets not get bogged down in semantics.

I'm a big guy. 6'2" and stout. Stout, by the by, is the most eloquent way I could think of to say not skinny.

Other stuff about me: 

As a nerd, I have always sought mastery in a new skill or knowledge in a new field. I take pleasure in cooking and baking. Writing is another thing I enjoy, as I am sure the verbosity of this profile will betray. Comedy is one of the forms of entertainment media I find most rewarding. I would pay good money if it meant holding an interesting conversation every day, though I find you can get it for free if you keep your eyes and mind open.

I would like to meet: 

Honesty and Intelligence are very important to me. Conversation is a big deal to me. And while intellect is not necessarily a precursor to engaging discourse, it certainly helps. A person who can teach you something, if nothing else, is worth meeting. I hope to find someone who is willing to take a new viewpoint in the face of rational, logical evidence. Someone who enjoys a good meal, and company to share it with. Someone who does not need to spend time with me, but wants to. Someone who is patient, shares my interests, and is interested in me for what I am, not what they think I could be. I like to say someone who "Gets it". Do you "Get it"?

I have enjoyed political discourse. Remaining objective seems to be the key when talking politics. When the conversation gets loud, it is time to stop.

I'm not a huge fan of keeping pets, but it's not a huge issue for me.

Eating is important, but one must be careful. My diet is pretty strict, I will only eat anything.
